It’s officially Fall, which means Arizonans statewide are breathing a sigh of relief as we see temperatures finally dip below the 100-degree mark. In celebration, the City of Chandler Parks and Recreation Division is kicking off the season by encouraging everyone to spend a day at the park this Friday for National Visit a Park Day.
The small, yet significant drop in temperature has been enough to pique the public’s appetite for outdoor activity and with 64 parks to choose from, everyone’s outdoor itch can be satisfied. Put on some sunscreen and head out for the tennis courts or multi-use sports fields and afterwards cool off in one of the four available splash pads. The city of Chandler also offers over 50 scenic hiking trails, four dog parks and 57 playgrounds.
“We are so excited that the weather is breaking and more community members are out enjoying our parks,” says Brooke Peterson, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the City of Chandler. Faculty members from the parks and recreations division will be out enjoying the fresh air as well, thanking the community for celebrating a day dedicated to the greater outdoors.
