Total time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4
French Toast:
4 eggs
2 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 stick butter
1 loaf Nature’s Own Butterbread*
Bananas Foster Sauce:
1/2 stick butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 bananas, sliced lengthwise and quartered
To prepare the French toast: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, half-and-half, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla until thoroughly combined.
On a nonstick griddle or pan heated to medium, melt the butter.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture until it is fully coated (do this twice for each slice). Place the coated slices on the griddle and cook until golden brown on each side.
To create the Bananas Foster sauce: Combine the butter and brown sugar in a pan over heat; add cinnamon. Once the mixture has melted into a caramel, add the sliced bananas.
Continue to ladle the sauce over the bananas in the pan.
Serve the French toast and drizzle with the bananas and sauce on top of each stack.
NOTE:
*This Bananas Foster French Toast recipe features Butterbread from Nature’s Own, which has partnered with Make-A-Wish to contribute $500,000 aimed at highlighting and supporting children with wishes through 2026.
Since 1980, the global nonprofit has fulfilled over 375,000 wishes across the U.S. for children facing serious illnesses, providing them with essential strength and hope to battle their conditions. The granted wishes can significantly change lives, bringing a sense of normality to families and impacting entire communities.
In celebration of this partnership, the Slice of Hope Campaign was launched, featuring in-store displays and a digital “Well Wish Wall” where shoppers can share their wishes for the children.
“We are truly honored to partner with Make-A-Wish on this meaningful two-year journey, committing to help grant life-changing wishes. Together, we hope to continue to inspire and spread goodness, one wish at a time.”
Krystle Farlow, senior director of brand management, Nature’s Own
