Total time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4
French Toast:
– 4 eggs
– 2 cups half-and-half
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 stick butter
– 1 loaf Nature’s Own Butterbread*
Bananas Foster Sauce:
– 1/2 stick butter
– 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 3 bananas, sliced lengthwise and then quartered
To prepare the French toast: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, half-and-half, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a nonstick griddle or frying pan on medium heat, melt the butter.
Coat each slice of bread in the egg mixture, turning twice for full coverage. Place the coated slices on the griddle, cooking until both sides are lightly browned.
To prepare the Bananas Foster sauce: Combine the butter and brown sugar in a pan until melted; stir in the cinnamon. Once it transforms into a caramel-like consistency, add the sliced bananas.
Spoon the sauce over the bananas as they cook.
Serve the French toast topped with the bananas and sauce over each stack.
NOTE:
*This recipe for Bananas Foster French Toast utilizes Butterbread from Nature’s Own, a brand that has partnered with Make-A-Wish, contributing $500,000 to support children with wishes through 2026.
Since its inception in 1980, the global nonprofit has fulfilled over 375,000 wishes in the U.S. for children battling critical illnesses, helping them find strength and hope during tough times. These granted wishes can be transformative, providing a sense of normalcy that positively affects families and entire communities.
As part of this partnership, the Slice of Hope Campaign has been introduced, featuring in-store displays and a digital “Well Wish Wall” for shoppers to share their well wishes for the kids to see.
“Together, we aim to inspire and spread goodness, one wish at a time.”
Krystle Farlow, senior director of brand management, Nature’s Own
